Pumpkinhead's New Title, Air Date
Good news for those of you who couldn’t stand the idea of a Pumpkinhead film with "love" in the title. Over on M. J. Simpson’s Pumpkinhead Pages mini-site, he has confirmed that the fourth film in the series has changed names from Pumpkinhead: Love Hurts to Pumpkinhead: Blood Feud.

The sequel, you may recall, was shot back-to-back with Jake West’s Pumpkinhead: Ashes to Ashes under the direction of House of the Dead 2 helmer Michael Hurst. Ashes to Ashes, which stars both Lance Henriksen and Doug Bradley, will be making its debut on the Sci Fi Channel on Saturday, October 28th, at 9:00 PM EDT, following yet another showing of Pumpkinhead II: Blood Wings.

U.S. poster for Belgian Horror - 'The Room'
The Room

An American poster for the dark Belgian Horror flick ‘The Room’ by director Giles Daoust has turned up online. That coupled with an “Exclusive U.S. trailer” to check out on the films official site, would seem to confirm that it has got (or soon will have) a distribution deal in the States.

Synopsis:
"Alex (Pascal Duquenne) is a man stuck in a wheelchair since a mysterious fall in the stairs. Alex is traumatised by his parents: Max (Philippe Résimont), a frustrated composer turned completely mad and violent; and Marie (Françoise Mignon), a cold and hysteric woman. Alex’s only friend is his sister Melinda, who’s been taking care of him for years. But Melinda, 9-months pregnant of an unknown man, also maltreated by her parents, is about to leave the family home to start a new life, leaving Alex behind. At the peak of the family crisis, a mysterious door appears in the house, at a place where there was nothing before. And everyone who enters it disappears with a terrifying scream. The members of the family discover they’re trapped in the house – every exit seems unnaturally blocked – and they start disappearing into The Room one after the other. Due to these terrifying events, the family will have to face their most terrible secrets, which will almost make them kill each other. But what mystery is hiding inside… The Room ?".

The First 3 Minutes of The Covenant
Sony Pictures has posted the first three minutes from The Covenant at the official website. The horror-thriller opens on September 8.

In 1692, in the Ipswich Colony of Massachusetts, five families with untold power formed a covenant of silence. One family, lusting for more, was banished - their bloodline disappearing without a trace. Until now.

Directed by Renny Harlin and written by J.S. Cardone, The Covenant tells the story of the Sons of Ipswich, four young students at the elite Spenser Academy who are bound by their sacred ancestry. As descendants of the original families who settled in Ipswich Colony in the 1600's, the boys have all been born with special powers. When the body of a dead student is discovered after a party, secrets begin to unravel which threaten to break the covenant of silence that has protected their families for hundreds of years.

Chris Nolan on The Dark Knight
ComingSoon.net sat in on an edit bay session with director Chris Nolan for The Prestige and the helmer talked a bit about both his blockbuster hit Batman Begins and its upcoming sequel, The Dark Knight.

Nolan said he was very surprised by Batman Begins' success, "for the simple reason that I felt we had really poured our hearts out in making a good film and that on our own terms we had succeeded. I never really expected to satisfy critics and Batman fans and regular audiences equally. I mean I thought maybe we'd get two points on the drawing board if you like, but the fact that all three seemed to respond well, that was a big surprise to me. I mean it felt like you were going to lose one aspect or someone… I think we were very fortunate in that regard, it's very gratifying."

Talking about the follow-up, in which Heath Ledger will play The Joker opposite Christian Bale, he mentioned that they're changing things up. "I think what people responded to well about 'Batman Begins' is how different it was from their expectations so I think we would be foolish to not recognize that and to [try to replicate that now predictable blueprint]. I think we'll be doing something very different for the sequel. I certainly wouldn't have any interest in trying to repeat experience or the formula we've made, because particularly being the origin story, it's a very unique thing, a very singular experience. My interest would sort of be to move on from that and to do something quite different."

The Dark Knight is coming in June of 2008. The Prestige, starring Hugh Jackman, Bale, Michael Caine, Scarlett Johansson, Rebecca Hall, Andy Serkis, Piper Perabo and David Bowie, opens October 20.
