"Joss Le Guern is a merchant seaman who, following the wreck of his ship and the end of his career, has strung an improvised mailbox onto a tree and taken to reading aloud local news left for him there thrice daily in the streets of Paris; he sees himself as a modern town crier. When odd, apocalyptic warnings begin coming in regularly, intrigued listener Herv Decambrais does some research and finds they match medieval texts that predicted the coming of the Black Death. Meanwhile, backward 4s begin appearing on apartment doors. At first, Chief Inspector Adamsberg (a comically forgetful, yet thoughtful and decisive character) and his deputy dismiss the markings as graffiti, but when they discover that the symbol was once used in parts of Europe to protect people against the plague and correlate with Joss's reports, the detective work intensifies - though not fast enough...."

There has been talk of a remake of the 1968 cult classic Barbarella for years, with Lindsay Lohan and Drew Barrymore rumored as the inheritors of the role first played by Jane Fonda. But now Dino De Laurentiis, who produced the original film, says the project will not be a remake but "a completely new Barbarella."
De Laurentiis informed NBC30.com that the new Barbarella promises viewers "love, sex, adventure." The script is currently being written. The producer adds that, despite the Lohan and Barrymore rumors, the role of Barbarella has not been cast yet.

There are some new trailers to be found online for Uwe Boll's POSTAL - the film that's supposed to offend everyone. Even though the good doctor hasn't made the greatest films in the past, I'm still kinda excited to get to see this one, (for the offensive stuff if for nothing else.) Anyway, one of the trailers is for the R-audience, while the other one's for the PG-audience. You can find the trailer page here! The official site for POSTAL (which really has nothing on it) can be found clickin' here

Showtime is developing a horror-tinged soap opera by Bret (American Psycho) Easton Ellis (pictured) and Dave Kalstein called THE CANYONS. The script centers on a 29-year-old magazine editor who escapes his hard-partying New York life by following his best friend and a new girlfriend across the country, only to find himself virtually isolated when his friend is killed in a mysterious accident.
Ellis said he developed the idea during one of his "dark periods" living in a Los Angeles hotel while looking for a home. "I had a feeling that the world was coming to an end, which I still think it is, and was making fear-based decisions, which were getting me into worse situations. I wanted to write a soap based on fear and anxiety in L.A." After having problems developing the script, Ellis brought in former New York-based magazine editor Kalstein, who worked with him on an action drama that networks were hesitant about developing.
