BOOGEYMAN 2 Stills
Even though Ghost House's BOOGEYMAN wasn't a big hit (or a good film at all for that matter), there are now news that a sequel starring Tobin Bell will come out, straight-to-dvd of course. Not that I think this film will be anything close to great B-D actually have some cool stills of the "monster" that you can check out right here. Also, here's the very plot of the film: "Under the care of Dr. Mitchell Allen (Tobin Bell), Laura (Danielle Savre) checks herself into a mental health facility, still haunted by a paralyzing fear after witnessing the death of her parents at the hands of the Boogeyman. Once Laura joins the other patients, who are also prisoners of their own phobias and trapped in the institution, the Boogeyman returns, exterminating them one by one in a bloody tableau of torture."

Alex Aja talks Mirrors & Piranha
Nice man and B-D boss Mr. Miska had a chat with French director Alex Aja, known for such awesome films as HAUTE TENSION (aka SWITCHBLADE ROMANCE, HIGH TENSION) and the bloody THE HILLS HAVE EYES remake, who talked about his upcoming re-imagining flicks MIRRORS and PIRANHA. Having recently just wrapped the shooting of MIRRORS, Aja wanted to make clear that it's NOT a remake of the Korean flick INTO THE MIRROR, but is instead a new story based on the original. Supposedly extremly gory, Aja tells B-D, "I just finished my director’s cut and I’m really, really excited. I think we have something that is really graphic, really gory and really violent and at the same very scary; it’s much scarier than what I did before." Well if that is true, and hopefully it is, this will be one cool mother to look forward to for sure. Regarding MIRRORS and the featured gore Aja continues, "It’s super graphic [and] really gory. I didn’t want to direct THE RING or DARK WATER; I really wanted to do something following the track of THE SHINING. For me it’s a movie that found a great balance between graphic gore and supernatural stuff as well."

As for PIRANHA, Aja says that they're writing it right now and that this is not a remake either. The director says, "PIRANHA is not a remake at all either - we were asked by Weinstein Company to think about a new PIRANHA movie, not a remake to the original." And he clarifies, "It’s not a remake of all the James Cameron movies – it’s only about the same kind of fish." When B-D asked him what will be different, since "sea monster" movies haven't been doing too well Aja explains, "My idea of the writing right now is to approach the project as if I was building a rollercoaster. It’s a complete different approach than HILLS or P2; it’s like building an attraction," he continues, "It’s going to be scary and great- it’s a very different approach from anything we’ve done before."

More when it happens and in the meantime the Aja produced P2 will be hitting theaters everywhere on November 9.

Synopsis for Romero´s untitled Diary of the Dead sequel
B-D reports that since DIARY OF THE DEAD was a success, Zombie Master George A. Romero has started working on a untitled DIARY OF THE DEAD sequel and that you can find the synopsis for below so enjoy.

UNTITLED GEORGE A. ROMERO DIARY OF THE DEAD SEQUEL
* Principal photography begins March 2008.
* To be written directed by George A. Romero.
* Cast to be announced.

"The “diary” saga continues. Our heroes, trapped in the mansion where we left them, battle waves of ravenous zombies, barely escaping alive. In search of a safe place to settle, they commandeer an abandoned ferry and sail to a deserted island, only to find that it is already populated by a civilization of the dead. Told in the same first-person style that distinguished “George A. Romero's Diary of the Dead”, the next episode of the saga is a violent siege set in the middle of nowhere, a desperate struggle for survival, and peace, between two tribes: the living and the living dead."

Geez... Child´s Play Remake On The Way
ShockTillYouDrop had a chat with producer David Kirschner who told the trade that he was currently prepping a remake of Tom Holland's CHILD'S PLAY. Kirschner said that they're currently discussing it with writer Don Mancini who has been there from the when Chucky first came to life. He continued to say that even though the first film was scary in its whole, the new one (remake) will be a terrifying version of the original film.

Kirschner continued saying: "It's kind of commerce to keep the franchise going, and another reason to go see it. For me, it's exciting, because the first one was really scary and then from there, we kind of… my favorites are 1 and 4. I love 4, it really makes me laugh and I think Jennifer Tilly is so great, but just the idea of going back to where we were the first time around and I think for me, it's almost 30 years later for me as a filmmaker from where I started to now, and the idea of taking some skill that maybe I didn't possess then and putting it towards the next film, I think could be exciting."

So there you go folks, yet another pointless remake on its way.
