"DEATH-CEMBER" DVD RELEASES FROM ANCHOR BAY ENTERTAINMENT
We've entered the month of December, or rather Death-Cember like the folks over at Anchor Bay like to call it and I gotta admit that the name has a nice ring to it. What's really nice though is that Anchor Bay are releasing a bunch of really cool flicks, just read on for the whole scoop.

First out is Jack Ketchum’s THE GIRL NEXT DOOR which is already out and you can pick up the film right here, it'll make a nice Christmas gift for sure. You can also read a review about the flick here. Directed by Gregory M. Wilson, THE GIRL NEXT DOOR stars Blanche Baker, Blythe Auffarth, Dan Manche, and William Atherton, and retail price is $26.97. Below is the synopsis for the film along with the bonus features that comes with the DVD.

"This harrowing true story of betrayal, violence and terror in a typical 1950s neighborhood, is all the more shocking because it actually happened. Orphans Meg (Blythe Auffarth, Keeping the Faith) and her disabled sister Susan (Madeline Taylor, in her screen debut) are held captive by their distant aunt Ruth (Emmy®-Award winner Blanche Baker), a tormented and sadistic woman rapidly going insane. Ruth’s madness has infected her three sons, as well as the entire neighborhood. Only 12-year-old David (Daniel Manche, “As the World Turns”) stands between Meg and Susan and what threatens to be their protracted and torturous deaths."

Years ago, little Billy saw his parents murdered by an escaped killer wearing a Santa Claus costume. The experience left indelible scars on his psyche. Now full grown, the 18-year-old Billy (Robert Brian Wilson, “Search for Tomorrow”) secures a job at a toy store. When the store’s regular Santa is injured, Billy is called upon to don the red suit. But as he does, he becomes a ticking time bomb of psychotic rage. Santa Claus is coming to town, and he’s got murder on his mind... You can pick up SILENT NIGHT, DEADLY NIGHT right here!

On December 18th Adam Green's HATCHET unrated hits DVD and it's a great film that you really need to check out. You can pick it up right here and read a review of it here. The film stars Joel David Moore, Tamara Feldman, Robert Englund, Tony Todd, and Kane Hodder, and retail price is $26.97. Visceral and unrelenting, Hatchet is Adam Green’s blood-soaked love letter to the slasher film genre, which reached its critical and commercial zenith in the 1980s. Victor Crowley is a hideously deformed boy, living in seclusion with his father (Kane Hodder) in an isolated cabin deep in the Louisiana bayou. When a Halloween prank initiated by local kids goes terribly awry, Victor is accidentally killed in a vicious twist of irony. Years later, a tourist group visiting New Orleans’ “haunted swamps” stumble upon the remnants of that shocking event, transforming an evening of seemingly innocent fun into a horrific nightmare, from which there may be no escape.
