New Horror Hotty: Eva Zekova

Update: F13 Mothers Day
With a rain storm that flooded out the location during the primary shooting and unseaonable snowy weather that delayed the reshoot for three months, it seemed like production on the film adaptation of Eric Morse's Friday the 13th novel, Mother's Day, would never get done. But Crystal Lake fans can now cheer because Cory Stevens, William Pattison (aka Eric Morse), and the rag tag cast and crew of this ambitious project have put the film in the can and will have the film ready for it's new internet premiere date of July 13th 2007.
This fan made film takes place after the events in the film JASON GOES TO HELL. Jason Voorhees has been sent to hell. A hunter digs up Jason's hockey mask and becomes possessed by the evil of Jason. He then terrorizes a group of campers who have decided to camp at the site where Camp Crystal Lake once existed. For Director/Producer Cory Stevens this has been a three and a half year journey to translate Morse's young adult novel onto the big screen. But it has been a labor of love for this young film student, who has financed this film out of his own pocket. The production got an added boost when the author, William Pattison (who wrote the novel under his pen name Eric Morse), gave Stevens and the production his support. Pattison has joined the production as Executive Consultant and will be lending the production his voice talent in an important voiceover role. The production also features a cast of talented young actors. They include Mali MacConnell, Benjamin M. Santos, Corey A. Lucas, Dave Conte, Nicole Lillie, Stephen LoVerme, Allyson Smith. It also includes Paul Bradicich as old man Varner, and Derek Jimenez as the murderous the hunter, Joe Travers. Currently, there are four trailers available on the internet. Also the filmmaker has released four sneek preview scenes from film and a behind the scenes clip on the internet. Brad Anderson to reteam with Christian Bale
B-D spoke to TRANSSIBERIAN director Brad Anderson who revealed to the trade that that he has has a few new upcoming horror projects, one that involves Christian Bale whom Anderson worked together with on THE MACHINIST. "I have a few horror specific things in the works," Anderson told B-D. "First I am doing ALL LOST SOULS, a serial killer movie, and the other is called VANISHING - a smart post apocalyptic horror film." Anderson continues, "Scott Kozar and I are trying to get another project off he ground called CONCRETE ISLAND, based on a story by JG Ballard. It's like an urban Robinson Caruso story, but much more f**ked up. Christian Bale has expressed interest in being the lead. Its not a studio film, it's a hallucinogenic odd movie, similar in tone to Cronenberg’s CRASH -- weird twisted and perverse. Its not horror, but its in that ballpark." New Rue Morgue film to premiere in Montreal, Korea and Texas
Rue Morgue Cinema follows up its two award-winning films The Eyes of Edward James and The Demonology of Desire with the groundbreaking new film THE FACTS IN THE CASE OF MISTER HOLLOW, set to premiere as an Official Selection of the 2008 Fantasia Film Festival (July 17 Montreal, Canada), the Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival (July 19-24 Puchon, Korea) and Fantastic Fest 5 (Sep 18-25 Austin, Texas).
Written by Rue Morgue president Rodrigo Gudiño and directed by Gudiño and award-winning visual artist Vincent Marcone (MyPetSkeleton.com), THE FACTS IN THE CASE OF MISTER HOLLOW is a lyrical and creepy short that Firefox News calls "formally stunning" and "diabolical". The film was produced by Marco Pecota with the assistance of BravoFACT! (Foundation to Assist Canadian Talent). "Making this film was an exotic adventure since I had never done anything like it, and I am very happy with the results," commented Gudiño. An image that tells an entire story, THE FACTS IN THE CASE OF MISTER HOLLOW centers on a single photograph that dates back to the early 1930s. Tracy Coogan enters DARK WOODS
Tracy (ZOMBIE HONEYMOON) Coogan who was part of British writer/director Jake Kennedys latest indie movie THE DEVIL'S DUNGEON wich was currently shot in Los Angeles.
She is now in pre-production with the feature movie, DARK WOODS, in which she will star as the lead character. DARK WOODS is a mystery thriller written by John Muscarnero and directed by Mike Escobedo. The story follows a couple who movesto a secluded cabin in the woods to cope with a terminal illness of the wife. As the wifes condition drags her deeper into dementia and darkness, the husband's friendship with a local teenage girl takes a dangerous and obsessive turn. The emotional feel will be something like "Swimming Pool", "We Don't Live Here Anymore" or Roman Polanski's "Repulsion". Lots of foreign influence, with some Lynch thrown in the mix. Nom De Plume Films LLC, is shooting the feature film, DARK WOODS, this winter in and around Los Angeles. Scream 4?
A press release from Showtime Networks and The Weinstein Company reports that the two have signed a long term deal which will span for 7 years and includes over 95 films. Now one of these films is SCREAM 4 and the press release says that the film will be the re-start of the SCREAM franchise, meaning that we probably will get so see more than just a fourth SCREAM film. That's it for now but more when it happens.

Major JEEPERS CREEPERS 3 update
Fango is reporting that JEEPERS CREEPERS 3 has officially begun preproduction at MGM and the flick will be entitled JEEPERS CREEPERS III: CATHEDRAL. Writer/director Victor Salva said that the opening will include a prologue in the Old West where we see how the Creeper became a frightening part of cowboy and Native American folklore, and after this the film will pick up where the second one left off.
"I will say," Salva said, "that one aspect of the third film features Trish Jenner (Gina Philips), who, 23 years later, has a teenage son of her own, named Darry after her long lost brother. Trish is having a terrible recurring dream where her son meets the same terrible fate as her brother. Now a rich and powerful woman, Trish is determined to stop the Creeper once and for all." Furthermore Salva also reported that the Creepers truck, BEATNGU, will make an appearance in the movie as well. More when it happens. Source: Fango
