Retreating from retirement, Michelle Bauerstill the B-Cinema’s #1 hottyis making a comeback. Last week, the gorgeous actress shot a narrative link that will be appended to BLACK REIGN, a horror film that Bauer shot back in the early 90s. The additional footage further embellishes her schizophrenic character and adds a sinister "twist" to the original film’s happy ending. The movie was predominantly photographed in California though the new overture and epilogue were shot in a Florida farmhouse.
Bauer, a veteran of horror films, has applied her comedic/dramatic aptitude to the likes of THE TOMB, HOLLYWOOD CHAINSAW HOOKERS, DEMONWARP, NIGHTMARE SISTERS, DINOSAUR ISLAND, SORORITY BABES IN THE SLIMEBALL BOWL-A-RAMA, et al. Jeffrey Ward, currently wrapping post-production work on HALLOWS POINT, relished the opportunity to reunite with the bombshell. The director shot all of BLACK REIGN’s original and 2007 footage. "This is a project that Michelle and I have long wanted to finish," Ward recounts. "The project was originally delayed because of unforeseen circumstances and it sat on a shelf for all these years. It was an honor to work with her again and finish this movie. I think it will be very interesting to see the same actress play the same character nearly twenty years apart in the same movie. I’m not sure if it’s ever been done before but I do know it works perfectly for the story we are telling in BLACK REIGN. Everyone who works with Michelle wants to work with her again and again. It’s no accident that she was cast in so many movies. She’s totally professional, considerate of the other cast and crew members and has a great sense of humor."
As a merchandising tie-in to the movie, classic sculptor/illustrator Daniel Horne has been engaged to render images of Bauer as a statue and an exotic art print. We’ll keep you posted. In the meantime, check-out Horne’s sterling work right here!
